Daniel Holden

CEO

Daniel brings a wealth of expertise across FinTech, eCommerce, accountancy and law to the role of CEO of Secure Trading. Joining in 2011 as Chief Financial Officer of the company, Daniel has also served as CFO for ST’s sister cyber-security company Cognosec.

His experience in financial services, developed in a number of high-growth roles across FinTech, EdTech and eCommerce enabled entities, has proven invaluable for implementing change, control and growth within Secure Trading. Daniel has directed the delivery of original business plan-to-payment schemes, operational assistance in the establishment of the merchant acquirer, and financial co-ordination and reporting.

Daniel has a proven successful track record of multi-national financial control, equity and debt fund raising rounds with such influential companies as Deloitte, Capita and Blick Rothenberg.

A true business all-rounder, Daniel has company secretary experience, and is a chartered accountant and qualified barrister.

Jonathan O’Connor

Chief Commercial Officer

Jonathan joined Secure Trading as Chief Commercial Officer with a clear mandate to accelerate revenue realisation from both the STL gateway and Acquiring.com business lines, by driving sales within the company. He is passionate about a client-first mentality, which runs in parallel with reduced time to revenue as the firm’s new commercial operating model.

Jonathan most recently served as Head of Institutional Sales for New Markets, Hotels, Travel and Leisure at First Data over a 12-year-period. He established and led the New Markets sales channel within the U.S., creating a $0 – $50M revenue business line for First Data, driving double-digit revenue growth year-on-year.

Prior to this, Jonathan was with First Data in Europe for 6 years, where he led gaming sales for Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific Regions. He also successfully designed and launched a new acquiring platform, led closed-loop prepaid in EMEA and APAC, managed the international eCommerce project team (IPG Gateway), and was part of the international team tasked with bank alliance partner formations.

Before First Data, Jonathan was a founding member of Elavon’s management team, responsible for building-out the European eCommerce business and cross-border acquiring platform. Jonathan also set up Elavon’s online gaming division Europe. He deployed one of the first PSP acquiring models in EMEA, driving a $30m business in 2 years.

Prior to Elavon, Jonathan held leadership and consultant roles focusing on payment and financial services with Vordel and Mysis.

Jonathan holds P.G.D./MSc in Information Technology for Strategic Management from Dublin Institute of Technology and a B.A. in Accounting & Finance from Portobello College in Dublin.

Ian Hughes

Chief Technical Officer

Ian is the Chief Technology Officer for Secure Trading. Ian is responsible for the research, development, and support operations that deliver Secure Trading’s products and services to the market. In this role, Ian is committed to driving innovation across the company, enabling expansion into new markets, and creating more value for Secure Trading’s customers and partners.

Previously Ian has held Software Development roles at Siemens, Racal Radar Defence Systems and BAE.

Barry Corbett

Chief Operating Officer

Barry is an award-winning financial services expert, bringing over a decade of experience in capital markets and transformative technology, alongside extensive expertise in operational strategy formulation, origination and advisory practices. Prior to joining Secure Trading he held senior positions with UBS investment bank and strategy consultancy Stratevolve.

He holds an Executive MBA from Cass Business School (awarded with distinction). His thesis on the impact of fintech on financial services was awarded the prestigious Lombard Prize, a national award for best thesis produced by a business school graduate, as well as the WCIB prize for best thesis related to financial services. His alma mater is Kings College London, where he graduated with a BA in History.
