Gerald Kitchen


Gerald as President of Secure Trading Group provides overall the strategy to follow to maximise the operational synergies between Secure Trading (Gateway) and ST Financial Services (Acquiring).

He has spent a significant period of time leading large payment companies across Europe, working with regulators, processors and customers of processors. He has also been leading and contributing to some of the most relevant PE led transactions in the payment sector in recent years, undertaking pre-sales advisory and contributing significantly to full CDD programs.
Previous positions include MD for Barclaycard Merchant Acquiring Business and SVP for WorldPay to name a few.

Laurent Dhaeyer

Managing Director at Secure Trading

Laurent Dhaeyer brings 15 years of extensive experience in payment strategy and Product Management. He is overseeing the transformation of Secure Trading to bring together the gateway and acquiring parts of the business and lead the company through its new phase of acceleration.

Laurent holds an MBA from HEC Paris. Previous positions include CCO for Rakuten Europe
Bank, MD for Ogone-Ingenico in the Asia Pacific region and Director Strategy and Business
Development at Asiapay.

Ian Hughes

Chief Technical Officer

Ian is responsible for all aspects of Secure Trading’s IT infrastructure and application development, support and maintenance, including information service delivery and security. With over 16 years of technical and IT management experience, Ian has held a wide variety of information technology roles within Secure Trading. He previously worked for British Aerospace developing flight simulator software as well as Racal Radar Defence Systems and Euro DPC.

Mike Field

Chief Operations Officer at Secure Trading Financial Services

As COO of Secure Trading Financial Services, Mike develops the groups’ European acquiring bank and operational services.

He is a highly skilled senior executive with extensive experience in payments, cards and retail banking offering a wide range of expertise in both acquiring and issuing sectors.
He has the ability to operate pro-actively, offering a pragmatic approach, leading and building teams to build operating model to meet business strategy and growth in an increasingly regulated environment.

Tim Buckingham

Acting General Counsel

Tim manages the legal team of the Group, and also has the compliance team as a direct report. Tim oversees the legal function which extends to corporate governance, compliance, commercial and regulatory issues to all of the Group’s companies.

Tim has spent his entire career in the payments space, regularly advising UK, European and Global acquirers and other participants in the payments chain. Tim was formerly a partner at DLA Piper UK LLP and Eversheds specialising in payments. Tim also acts as an advisor to MAC, the US based Merchant Acquirers Committee, in particular MAC”s European arm.

Helen Farrow

Group Head of Human Resources

Helen is responsible for leading strategic and operational HR support for the UC Group and its family of companies as well as managing the group HR team and administration services.

She has a commercial and outcome focused Human Resources lead with a passion for development, celebrating difference and equality.

Daniela Ventrone

Head of Performance and Commercial Analytics

Daniela as Head of Performance and Commercial Analytics is in charge of the oversight of MI/BI reporting; merchant and contract pricing analysis; financial projections; optimisation and remediation.

She is a Payments specialist with extensive experience as a Business and Financial Analyst at acquirers, issuers, merchants and gateways.
Daniela has held, over the years, successful senior consultant roles, with a proven track record.

Jon Hawkins

Director of Account Management

Jon, as Director of Account Management, leads the multiple functions that look after our existing Merchant and Partner relationships. Together with his growing teams, he is responsible for managing the overall existing portfolio from a relationship, commercial and business perspective.

Jon has over 15 years of experience in Technology Sales and Account Management and joined Secure Trading from CyberSource where he was an Account Director responsible for a number of the leading Global Accounts.
