Important Message - Postal Strike
A Royal Mail strike will begin on 22nd October. On the first day, mail centre staff and drivers will strike. The next day it will be delivery and collection staff. For exact details and up to date information please see the Royal Mail website here.
How does it affect you?
This strike could indeed impact your business, causing delays to post in some areas of the UK.
Reduce Impact
So how do you make sure the strike doesn’t impact your business, or indeed reduce the impact?
The Business Link website gives the following advice:
-
letting your customers know that there may be a delay to their goods being received
-
taking outgoing mail to a Post Office as it is more likely to be collected than from a post box
-
sending post by Special Delivery or by courier – but check with Post Office staff that these services are running
-
using alternative businesses to deliver items to customers
-
contacting the receiver to let them know it may be delayed
-
paying bills online or at banks, building societies and Post Offices as late payment may result in interest charges or penalties
