With the economy at the height of recession, 2009 was a difficult year for all. Despite this, online trading prospered, meaning 2009 was a good year and played a vital role in taking the UK retail sector out of recession. Research by IMRG calculated that internet retail sales in the UK were up 17% from 2008. You can find out more about this in our story Online in 2009.
