Switching to SecureTrading?

The decision to switch providers can be a scary prospect, but when you constantly experience problems, switching suppliers will be the best thing you ever did. And it's easier than you think.

If you're unable to take payments through your website you're not making sales. And if you're not making sales you're not making money, but you are certainly losing customers.

Done properly, switching providers should have a positive impact on your business and to make it easier, SecureTrading has written this guide, making the switch over as painless as possible for you.

1 Talk to SecureTrading

Contact our sales team on +44 (0)333 240 6000 to discuss which products would be most suitable for you. Alternatively request an information pack by clicking here.

Our experienced sales team will also be able to advise you on anything you're not sure about or answer any questions you may have.

2 Sign Up

You can complete an application form online here. By doing so you are accepting our terms and conditions.

3 Talk to your bank

If you are already trading online and would like to switch to SecureTrading, you will need to inform your acquiring bank of your intentions so that they can assign your merchant account to SecureTrading.

Alternatively, you can set up a new merchant account to use with SecureTrading. This will allow you to keep your existing merchant account with your old provider active while your SecureTrading account is set up. You can then simply switch to the new set up once integration and testing have been completed. This will avoid any downtime on your website.

If you decide to take this route, it is advisable to keep your old account active for 30 days following the switchover, so that you can process any refunds or deal with any queries relating to the old payment system with minimum effort.

4 Send SecureTrading your MID

Whichever of the above options you choose you will need to inform SecureTrading of your merchant account number. You can do so by sending it to support@securetrading.com.

5 Integrate

You can now choose which integration method you wish to use. This all depends on your requirements. You can let SecureTrading handle your PCI requirement and host your payment page for you or if want more freedom to develop or integrate your own functionality you can choose the SecureTrading API or SecureTrading Web Services. Alternatively you can use a combination of our Payment Pages and API/Web Services solutions.

Once you have signed up with SecureTrading we will send you a "Welcome" email with all your account details and further instructions on how to integrate to SecureTrading. Once you have received this information you can start integrating to SecureTrading!

Remember - if you want these details to be sent to your web developer you will need to include them as a Technical contact when applying.

6 Go live

When integration is complete and you're happy with everything you will need to email support@securetrading.com to be switched live. Once you have received confirmation you will be able to start accepting payments through SecureTrading!
