Recurring payments, also known as Repeat Payments, Subscriptions and Continuous Authority transactions, are transactions that the cardholder grants to a Merchant to charge their card for recurring goods or services e.g. for a magazine subscription.
Who is it for?Recurring payments are ideal for Merchants that want to take regular transactions – weekly, monthly or quarterly, you choose.
This type of payments do not require a CV2 value or expiry date. Once the initial transaction is verified the card will be a trusted card and any repeats of this transaction will not need to have the data passed again. Even if the card expires it can still be processed.
If you would like to take repeat payments (also known as subscriptions and recurring payments) you will need an Internet Merchant ID enabled for doing so. You will need to contact your acquirer to obtain this. This will then need to be provided to Support who will set this up on your account.
